Statistics on gender-based violence in Mexico are disconcerting. Every day, around 10 women are murdered in the country, and over the last six years, the number of disappeared women and girls has tripled. According to official data, in 2022, a total of 3,754 women and girls were assassinated – and only 947 of them were investigated as femicides.
