Vietnam to America, a son’s search. Left behind after the Vietnam War, Sang is one of many children born to American soldiers and Vietnamese women. Marked by stigma and absence, he grows up yearning for the father he never knew. Decades later, he discovers his father is alive but dying in the U.S. Determined to meet him, Sang leaves his family in Vietnam to seek connection. In America, he is met with silence and estrangement, an outsider to both country and kin. As the dream of reunion fades, Sang finds something deeper: his own strength to confront the past, reclaim his identity, and shape a future on his terms.
